Drupal Global Contribution Weekend is a worldwide event everyone can participate in. Small local contribution events will be held annually on the last weekend in January. Everyone is encouraged to join an existing event in your local area or – if none exists at the moment – create your own. This online group is set up to help you find other folks online to collaborate on the same topics regardless of location.
See https://groups.drupal.org/node/536597 for in-person locations or location specific online gatherings.
Gábor Hojtsy wrote a blog post for Drupal 9 and Drupal 10 Readiness efforts this weekend.
How to use this group?
Add and find topics
Browse the Topics (a topic is like a table for those of us familiar in-person events!) listed in the topics tab above for something interesting to work on and read how those already working are communicating.
Or, create your own Topic in this group, by clicking the Topics tab above and clicking the Add Topic button in the sidebar.
When creating topics, include in your Topic description:
- What the Topic is attempting to achieve - what are you working on?
- Are there links to relevant issues? (You are encouraged to post links to issue searches!)
- How are you communicating between yourselves (Slack channel? Comments on the topic? You decide but tell everyone what you are doing)
- In the "Additional Information" fieldgroup, you can even choose skills you are looking for so that people can search for things to join.
Add and find events
A topic may have one or more events, when leads involved with that topic are available to collaborate with. An event is like a table having folks knowledgeable in the topic at a given time. This way leads of topics can help potential contributors find when they can meet each other online. Use the Events tab to submit events and find events suitable for when you are available to contribute.
Happy contributing!
